Country RE-Birthing

The original name of this poem is Country Birthing. However since people in politics and many in the political climate of the church have been trying to change, overwrite, rewrite what is written. We no longer build a little here a little there as described in the book of Isaiah, the prophet. (see Chapter 28) The scripture God made it a "rule". So, with that said, I offer you this poem from my book, "Climbing Higher/A Life In Poetry". A link will be provided at the bottom if you would like to order your own copy or get one for a friend, a teenager, a pastor, etc. It is essentially a country being "born-again".

Country Birthing

Take some men and women

Determined to follow and acknowledge God

While on this earth they live and die

In humility praying, seeking and following their cause

Thy would be willing to give up

Many or all their leisure's and comforts of home

To begin again in a new land

Few if any had ever roamed

A scary deal would meet them here

Unbeknownst to them till a later date

Some would call it chance or luck

The ones who fought, called it fate

To give up ones own life

To see the promise of their God for others

For the ones who'll live down the line

Unselfish in their thoughts to others

They lived, but died to see the freedom

To not do as they themselves would think

Unless they first counseled God's Word

In relationship with Him, the link

Acknowledge the one True God, in all His power

His majesty is plainly seen here

From lowlands to mountains and beyond

The bear, the eagle, and the deer

To stand for something and not falter

Even in the face of sure defeat

They trusted God in His calling

Refusing to sound the call of retreat

Instead the enemy, we'll call him man

Sounds his own retreat to bow to God's command

Our weapons of prayer and worship are mighty

As we take back our dieing land

Lift up your voice and repent

Say to God, Father we relent

From this evil we have allowed

Our forefathers lives are NOW well spent

Their devotion to a mighty God

Who was well able to save and give victory

but only as they were led by You

Then You gave them OUR destiny

The land our SOLDIERS and others fought for

Now belong to us today

Humble us we look to You and return

The land of the free, the brave, the U.S.A.
