Maturing Child--Gifted

I said, God, I want to be loved

God said, so do I

I said, but God, I want to be valued

God said, Me too

I said, God, I'm so emotional right now

God said, I know that...so do I, Me too!

But I will be who I Am and will help you bear the burden

I Am love and I Am value and I Am emotion

But I Am also order and the One who works all things

Together for the good of those who love....ME

And....You do, not because you are always perfect

But because you are willing to acknowledge offense

And because you are willing to look upon ME

And you are willing to...repent

And you do receive my grace and mercy

You open the gifts many leave unwrapped

And you appreciate them and show it by

The tear you shed, unwrapping the gifts and still

Looking to Me, and you come running into My arms

Like a child who is mature
