The Heaviness of Repentance

There is an apparent heaviness that comes with the thought of repentance. Perhaps a truth that "I" have commited a crime against someone, myself or God. A shame if you will. I think the Lord wants to correct that false though pattern. The "heaviness" does not come from the reality that "I" commited a crime, not even against God. The "heaviness" is actually the guilt and shame we feel and the fear God will be mad and make us sit down or bench us. Repentance actually is designed to relieve "me" from the "heaviness" of the shame, guilt and condemnation. Repent is Jesus saying, "I'll take that now". You see, repentance does not add to the guilt/shame/condemnation, it removes it. They who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Would YOU--be saved? Call on Jesus. If you don't know how--just admit it and say to Jesus--"I don't know how Jesus"
Some of the definitions of repentance and its variations are; "a WILLING------PURPOSE to---AMEND AND TURN from sin", "Pity", "console", "more than a one time act", "nourish", "comfort", "restore", "retreat to safety" to name just a few. It is MORE than just "change your mind" although that IS a beginning and a good place. Are you "willing". Tell Jesus and go from there. Please do let us know so we might get a Bible to you and if you would like to speak to someone please feel free to call 678-929-7322 and leave a message. Someone WILL get back with you. God bless you!!
